Zusammenfassung: | A rigid, heat-reflective, laminated polymeric glazing unit comprises in combination (1) a rigid thermoplastic polymeric glazing material (pref. PMMA or polycarbonate), (2) a thin, flexible light-transmissive polymeric film having on the side adjacent the glazing material a transparent, reflective metal deposit, e.g. Al, Au or bronze, and (3) uniformly bonding (1) to (2) throughout their coextensive surfaces so that there are no bubbles there between a 0.1-1 mil cured layer of clear, film-forming, sunlight-stable, synthetic resinous adhesive contg. a free radical photo-initiator, pref. benzoin butyl ether, at least one of (1) and (2) being capable of transmitting visible and near UV light. The adhesive, before curing, pres. comprises 100 pbw of a polyester formed from fumaric acid, maleic anhydride, ethylene glycol and dipropylene glycol and having an unsatn. value of 1-6 m moles/g, 30-100 pbw diallyl phthalate, 2-50 pbw of the photo catalyst and up to 100 pbw of an adhesion promoter, pref. polyvinyl formal. |
