Zusammenfassung: | 1460962 Coated wall coverings E HOLTZMANN & CIE AG 21 Jan 1974 [20 Jan 1973] 2792174 Heading B2E A strippable wall paper consists of a raw wallpaper bearing, on the side intended to face the wall, a water repellent hot melt layer of wax or synthetic plastics to which a layer of water activatable adhesive has been applied and wherein the degree of adhesion between the adhesive layer and the water repellent layer is determined by means of the incorporation of a proportion of a non-reactive substance into the water repellent layer, the affinity of the water repellent layer for the adhesive layer being increased with increasing amounts of the non reactive substance in the water repellent layer. The adhesive may contain an acrylate polymer, e.g. an acrylate copolymer or terpolymer. The water repellent layer may consist of or include one or more of ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymers, microwaxes, paraffins and polyhydrocarbons. Suitable non reactive substances include zinc sulphide, titanium dioxide, silicon dioxide and/or silicates and calcium carbonate. A three layer wall paper comprises water repellent priming layer 2 incorporating affinity controlling component 4 applied to wall paper 1. The layer 2 carries a water activatable adhesive film 3 based on an acrylic resin copolymer or terpolymer. A four layer wall paper consists of raw paper 1 having a water repellent priming 2 incorporating an affinity controlling component 4. Layer 2 is covered with a hydrocolloid layer 5 which serves as an anchoring base for powdered paste layer 6. |
