Zusammenfassung:Title compd. is prepd. by (a) dehydrochlorinating 1,1,2,2,3,4-hexachlorobutane in aq. or aq alcoholic alkali soln. at temp. =100 degrees C; and (b) dechlorinating the resulting 1,1,2,3,4-pentachlorobutene-1 with chlorine-splitting metals in an alcoholic solvent in the presence of a stabilizer at temp =100 degrees C. The process gives high yields (80-90%) without complicated technology. The 1,1,2-trichlorobutadiene-1,3 monomer is useful for the prodn. of polymers used in the making of high performance rubber-metal adhesives.
