This piston has a cylindrical shank ending in an annular groove followed by a conical taper. The groove and cylinder dias are related by twice the ball dias in two matching pairs so that the balls are either locked or free and hence the grab assembly is likewise axially locked together or free to separate. Assembly offers reliability and compactness. |
