Zusammenfassung: | 1366996 Paraffin wax emulsion COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DE RAFFINAGE 12 Jan 1972 [15 Jan 1971] 1474/72 Heading B1V [Also in Division C5] A solid emulsifiable paraffin wax composition comprises a mixture of from 65 to 95% paraffin wax, from 5 to 35% emulsifier and from 2.5 to 20% microcrystalline wax. "Paraffin wax" is one or more paraffins having crystalline structure, and m.pt. between 45 and 66C; "microcrystalline wax" is amorphous saturated hydrocarbons of higher molecular weight than the paraffin and m.pt. between 66 and 90C. Emulsifiers exemplified are amine soaps, alkyl polyglycol ethers; others are mentioned. The composition may be made by introducing the emulsifier, or for amine soaps the emulsifier components into the mixture of paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax with heat and agitation, then cooling the mixture. An emulsion may be prepared from the composition by mixing it with hot water at a temperature between 80 and 140C, to give an emulsion containing from 10 to 70% by weight water. |
