Zusammenfassung:Pastes for application to mine working walls as duct absorbers are detailed containing =5% borax and >=0.05% organic material such as Guar gum gradually added to a rapidly mixed paste of Mg or Ca Cl2 and alkali. These pastes have fairly low corrosive action on iron and other metallic articles used in mines and have good dirt absorbing props. By use of calculated amts. of water during mfr. they can be made non-drying, thus maintaining obsorbtive activity. The pastes have good adhesive qualities and good resistance to dissolution by atmos. moisture. They are also strong.
