Zusammenfassung:The electrolytic Mg cell comprising a refractory lined bath with a cover, which is subdivided into cells by vertical diaphragms between opposed polarity electrodes, has groups of in-line cathodes facing each working side of the anodes. The additive width of each cathode group is almost equal to the width of the anode they are facing. The design permits the use of wider cell with still sufficiently rigid cathodes, the warping of which has less effect, giving rise to improved electrical efficiency.
