Zusammenfassung:In the isomerization of olefins by contacting a linear, isomerizable olefinic hydrocarbon with a catalyst to the corresponding linear, isomerized olefinic hydrocarbon, a process wherein the catalyst is an alkaline catalyst composition prepared by heating an alkali metal, an alkali metal hydroxide and alumina at a temperature higher than the melting point of the alkali metal. By the use of the said catalyst composition, the isomerization can be accomplished much more efficiently, compared with the case of using conventional catalyst compositions.
