Zusammenfassung: | alloys of low Fe- and Ti content are obtained by using a charge in the form of briquettes, consisting of silica-alumina contg. material, and a C-contg. reducing agent comprising a mixt. of petroleum coke and carbon black in which the ratio of coke to carbon black referred to the non-volatile C-content of the charge is 3.0:1 to 0.5:1. The charge pref. contains a sulphite-alcohol extract based on Na, Mg, and/or ammonium cations, and may contain chlorides and fluorides of alkali- and/or alkaline earth metal in amounts of up to 3% of the wt. of the charge. The alloy is suitable for e.g. deoxidation of steel melts or as reduction medium in metallo-thermal processes. |
