Zusammenfassung:	Method and apparatus capable of controlling the driving speed of the open-end spinning frame utilizing a plurality of spinning units by applying at least two variable frequency electric sources. A first electric source is used for driving all spinning units for carrying out the normal spinning operation, while a second electric source is used for driving a spinning unit of yarn breakages used for carrying out the yarn piecing operation. The latter source is mounted on a carriage capable of being displaced along the spinning frame and can be stopped at a desired working position correctly.
