Zusammenfassung:	Measuring appts. for measuring the concentration of an element contained in a hydrocarbon compound, the element having a higher mass absorption coefficient than the carbon and the hydrogen in the hydrocarbon compound, has a source of radio-active radiation with an energy level of 60-100 KeV, a striking plate which is irradiated with the radiation so that fluorescent X-rays are transmitted with an energy level of 23-24.5 KeV, and organs for detecting the fluorescent X-rays transmitted through the hydrocarbon compound. Specif. the hydrocarbon is petroleum oil or a refined petroleum oil, and the element is sulphur, chlorine, nickel or lead.
