Open end spinning machine - has moving elements driven by single drive motor

The fibre feed device, spinning device, and take-up rolls are all driven via gearing from a common drive motor which may be driven at high or low speeds corresponding to a piecing-up or start-up speed and a spinning speed. Pref. the motor control circuit includes two rheostats which can be switched into or out of circuit to run the motor at the high or low speeds, and pref. the take-up rolls are connected to the motor by a clutch so that take-up can commence after fibre feed. During piecing-up, the relative speeds of the elements is maintained, reducing end-breaks and preventing increase or decrease in yarn dia. where the yarn been pieced up.
