Zusammenfassung:	Process is effected by polymerising a mixt. of vinyl aromatic and vinyl cyanide monomers in the presence of an aq. emulsion of ca. 0.1-1.0 wt % of an ethylenically unsatd. rubber per pt. monomer mixt. by (a) using 18-57 mol % vinyl cyanide monomer in the monomer mixt. (b) using a butadiene polymer with =50 wt% styrene, an avg. particle size of 0.2-0.7 mu, a gel content of 85% and a swelling index in benzene of >15 (c) effecting the polymsn. in the presence of 0.002-0.033 mercaptan polymsn. regulator per Kg monomer and rubber and (d) carrying out the polymsn. at 50-60 degrees C till is not 85% of the monomers have reacted.
