Zusammenfassung:	1337160 Polymerizing vinyl chloride BAYER AG 15 Oct 1971 [15 Oct 1970] 47994/71 Heading C3P Vinyl chloride is polymerized at - 10 to - 40 C. in aqueous alcoholic solution at a pH below 7 in the presence of an initiator system comprising (a) a hydroperoxide, (b) an organic sulphinic acid or salt thereof, (c) a Cu+ + complex with ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid. In the example are used hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydroxymethyl sulphinate and copper sulphate complexed with EDTA in aqueous methanol containing sulphuric acid and sodium lauryl sulphate. Preferably a lithium or zinc salt is also present. The product is stereoregular.
