In a film unit (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), having rupturable pods (14a, 14b, 14c) of processing liquid at a leading end (12) thereof and a compartment 44 for excess processing liquid at a trailing end (18) thereof, the compartment 44 is formed by a trailing section 38 of a transparent sheet 30 extending beyond the trailing section of photo-sensitive sheet 32 and by binding means 42 wrapped round and sealed to the trailing sections of sheets 30, 32. The sheet 30 has a pair of offset depressions 54, 56 formed at each side, the depressions being of the same thickness as the sheet 32 and preventing the collapse of the compartment 44 as the latter passes between rollers previously used to rupture the pods and spread the processing liquid. The depressions 54, 56 and an unsealed area (52), Fig.3 (not shown), of a corner fold (46) of the binding means 42 provide an air escape route from the compartment 44.
