Zusammenfassung:	A relatively tough organic film (I) which is resitant to displacement is applied to the metallic workpiece and a softening agent (II) is applied to an exposed surface of the film to convert it to at least a semi-fluid state of increased lubricity without destroying the adherence of the film to the metallic surface and the lubricated workpiece is then deformed. Pref. (I) is poly(acrylic acid) and (II) is a ketone.
