Zusammenfassung: | 1288333 Coating urea granules STAMICARBON NV 21 Jan 1970 [23 Jan 1969] 2941/70 Heading B2E [Also in Division Cl] The absorption of moisture by urea granules is reduced by coating said granules at at 30-65‹C with a composition comprising a mineral oil, 5-20% wt. of a solid paraffin and 1-15% wt. of an animal or vegetable fat or oil. The coating may be applied by spraying the granules in a rotary drum, preferably in amount of 0.8% wt. based on the granules. Suitable animal or vegetable fat or oils are linseed oil, rape oil, olive oil, soybean oil, neat's foot oil, coconut butter, lard or beef suet which may be hydrogenated or partially polymerised. Optimum results are obtained with a composition comprising 80% mineral oil, 10% paraffin and 10% fat or oil, especially soybean oil. The treatment of urea granules according to the invention may be incorporated into a process for granulating urea from a melt in said coating composition. |
