Zusammenfassung:	1309959 Photo-chromic materials and uses thereof AGFA-GEVAERT AG 23 Dec 1970 [8 Jan 1970] 61027/70 Heading C4S [Also in Division G2] Naphthalene 1,4,5,8-diimides substituted on the imide nitrogen with amino alkyl groups or alkyl groups further substituted by N-containing heterocyclic groups are used in photochromic materials. In an example, a transparent support is coated with a layer containing a cellulose ether and titanium dioxide and a layer containing an imide of formula the material is imagewise exposed to produce a dark grey image which reverts to the colourless state when left. The reversion is speeded by heat, e.g. at 90 C. reversion takes 20 seconds. Many binder and support materials are exemplified and examples disclose preparations. Image exposure may also be while the material is heated.
