Component has an outer coating for corrosion resistance or preventing electrical breakdown, applied as a thin porous layer and impregnated with plastic

The component comprises a base member (1) coated partially or completely with one or more porous layers (9) of metallic or non-metallic material. The coating layer is at least 0.1 mm thick and the pores are subsequently impregnated by plastic in a vacuum. Independent claims are also included for: (a...

Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:The component comprises a base member (1) coated partially or completely with one or more porous layers (9) of metallic or non-metallic material. The coating layer is at least 0.1 mm thick and the pores are subsequently impregnated by plastic in a vacuum. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a roll with a cylindrical body(1) of metal or fiber-reinforced plastic with a coating of electrically non-conductive fiber reinforced plastic; (b) a process for producing a component in which a porous metallic or non-metallic material (3) is applied to the outer surface (2) of the base member and the pores impregnated with plastic; (c) a process for manufacturing rolls in which a porous electrically insulating ceramic layer is applied to the cylindrical body before impregnation by plastic; (d) a process for manufacturing components with a body coated in porous corrosion resistant material (3) impregnated with plastic; (e) a coating method for protecting the surfaces of components; (f) a porous corrosion protection layer on a substrate; and (g) use of the claimed layer as corrosion protection.
