The cable has several fiber ribbons (4) in an outer sleeve (2), whereby the free cross-sectional area of the outer sleeve is larger than the sum of the cross-sectional areas of the fiber ribbons, which are joined together in groups, preferably with thread. The fiber ribbons are at least partly stranded, twisted and/or stuck. The ribbons can be joined together in stacks.
