The method involves placing the bulk material to be measured in a transportable device at any position and then determining the moisture and/or the deviation from at least one defined value with at least one measurement probe element (9). The measured value(s) can be displayed and the measurements repeated at optional time intervals at each position. A reference or calibration measurement can be performed before the measurements are conducted. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for measuring moisture, especially absolute moisture content, in any bulk material.
