Feed system for drill press

The feed system includes a flexible endless loop (130) movably connected to the spindle assembly so that movement of the loop moves the spindle assembly between a raised and a lowered position. A portion of the feed system is exposed through the opening, and covered by a flexible barrier (158). The drill press (10) has a base (18) for supporting the press on a surface, a housing supported on the base and defining an opening, a telescoping spindle assembly (34) positioned for movement along, and rotation about, an axis, an electric motor (30) rotatable driving the spindle assembly and the feed system for moving the spindle assembly between a lowered and a raised position. Das Vorschubsystem weist ein Zahnrad auf, das drehbar vom Gehäuse gehalten ist, sowie ein felxibles Bauteil, das beweglich in das Zahnrad eingreift und mit der Spindelanordnung derart verbunden ist, daß eine Drehung des Zahnrades die Spindelanordnung zwischen der abgesenkten Stellung und der angehobenen Stellung bewegt.
