Zusammenfassung: | The system to remove water from the surface of a rotating roller (1) has a water trough (2) along the axial length of the roller, to catch the water and lead it away. At least one jet (3) delivers a pressure spray at the roller (1) surface. The jet (3) directs compressed air at the roller surface, along generally the whole axial length, preferably using a number of compressed air jets (3). At least one guide unit (5) is positioned in the path of the reflected compressed air and/or water from the roller (1) surface, to deflect it to a catch unit (4). The water trough (2) acts as the catch unit (4), and the jets (3) are in the catch unit (4) or trough (2). The water catch trough (2) is located after the press gap between the rollers (1), which press water out of the fiber web (6) moving between them. The roller (1) has a profiled surface, especially with grooves and/or blind drillings. Where the press roller is a suction roller with a perforated mantle, the water is removed by a catch trough (2) along the roller axial length, and the interior of the roller which has a sector which is not under suction linked to a compressed air supply, along the axial length of the roller. A guide (5) deflects the air/water mixture flowing from the suction roller into the catch trough (2). The catch unit (4) is connected by at least one channel (10) to an underpressure unit.
