Zusammenfassung:	A transmission with a number of fixed gear ratios has an automatic selector system which has a single actuator (6) to select the gate and the gear. The actuator is moved axially and rotationally to move through the gate and to select the particular gear ratios. An intermediate element with a return spring provides a simple return movement. The actuator operates on a central control shaft and the system includes a solenoid to hold particular settings, or an electric servo motor to hold the settings.
