This is positioned in the slicing area (14) of the machine (1), e.g. under the cutting edge (13). One or more trays are held in a magazine (5) and are moved into receiving position by a conveyor (2). The tray is moved in at least one direction during slicing, dependent upon the desired arrangement of the sliced foods.
