Zusammenfassung:	Elution of biomolecules from chromatographic media in adsorption chromatography is effected using an eluant containing at least one polyol (I). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Bis(2-(2,3-dihydroxypropylthio)ethyl) sulfone of formula (II): HOCH2-CHOH-CH2S-CH2CH2-SO2-CH2CH2-SCH2-CHOH-CH2OH (II). (2) Production of (II) by reacting mercaptoglycerol with divinyl sulfone. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Elution von Biomolekülen von Chromatographie-Materialien durch Zusatz von Polyolen zu einer Elutionslösung, die Erfindung betrifft weiter ein Sulfon der folgenden Formel (I) DOLLAR A CH¶2¶OHCHOHCH¶2¶SCH¶2¶CH¶2¶SO¶2¶CH¶2¶CH¶2¶SCH¶2¶CHOHCH¶2¶OH als eine in dem Verfahren verwendbare eluierende Verbindung.
