Zusammenfassung:	The operating lever (1) has a rotatable head (3) which can move from a radial switch position for a starting separation to the vehicle in front, to a position for a reduced separation, and to a position for a far separation. The head is locked in position for the first near separation and for the far separation. The distance controller sets a previously stored value for the separation when the first radial position is selected.
