Zusammenfassung: | Length and cross section of inlet ducts (E) to cylinders of a two-stroke internal combustion engine are designed so that the fresh gas (4) flowing into the cylinder (1) has the same direction and inclination (N) as the orifice of the duct into the cylinder. Inlet ducts are aligned tangentially and have an inclination of 15-75 angular deg. to the cylinder axis towards the cylinder head. The mean pressure of the fresh gas before entering the cylinder and the pressure of the combustion gases after the cylinder are designed so that the fresh gas strikes the cylinder wall (2) and flows to the cylinder head in a spiral, is deflected in the circumferential direction to produce an augmented flow downwards with a twist which is retained during compression. |
