Zusammenfassung:	The method involves varying the axial and radial clamping characteristics between the rotary part (2) and bearing (4,5). The characteristics are varied in a controlled manner by reversibly altering the radial extent and/or pressure on the rotary part of a radial adjustment unit of piezoelectrically active material. The characteristics can be varied according to rotary part vibrations and this changes the transfer function of the vibrations, especially the sound waves causing them, between the rotary part and the bearing or a component (7) in contact with the bearing. Independent claims are also included for a tunable rotary part and a shaft bearing.
