Zusammenfassung:The device includes a diode (13) connected in series with a spark plug (4) and a secondary winding (1b) of an ignition coil (1), for passing a current solely in the direction of a secondary current which flows at switching off of a primary current through the ignition coil. A capacitor (11) is connected in series with the spark plug, the secondary winding of the ignition coil, and the diode, which serves as an ion current generation source. A voltage stabilizer diode (12) is connected parallel to the capacitor for limiting a voltage, on which the capacitor is charged through the secondary current of the ignition coil, to a predetermined value. A series circuit of a detection resistance (15) and a load resistance (14) is connected parallel with the diode, and forms an ion current path along with the capacitor, the secondary winding of the ignition coil, and the spark plug. An inverting circuit (16) is connected with a node between the detection resistance and the load resistance.
