Zusammenfassung:	The gas discharge lamp (1) has a discharge lamp envelope (3a) enclosed by an outer glass sleeve (2), to form a double-walled structure, with the intermediate space (5) between the discharge lamp envelope and the outer glass sleeve evacuated. The outer surface of the discharge lamp envelope is provided with a barium coating (4) for absorption of gas resulting from aging of the discharge lamp envelope and/or the glass sleeve, within the evaluated space, at a point outside the effective region of the gas discharge lamp (3).
