Zusammenfassung:	Moulded articles comprising an antibiotic homogeneously dispersed in a thermoplastic polyurethane are claimed, where the articles (a) have a surface roughness (peak-to-valley height) of less than 5 mu m or (b) have a greater tensile strength that articles made from the corresponding antibiotic-free polyurethane. Also claimed are processes for producing articles as above, comprising (1) extruding or injection-moulding a homogeneous dispersion of the antibiotic in the polyurethane or (2) coextruding the antibiotic and polyurethane. Also claimed is a process for producing a thermoplastic polyurethane containing a homogeneously dispersed antibiotic, comprising mixing the antibiotic with the polyurethane. Also claimed is a thermoplastic polyurethane that is obtainable by reaction of polytetrahydrofuran, isophorone diisocyanate, isophorone diamine and 1,6-hexanediol and contains homogeneously dispersed ciprofloxacin.
