Zusammenfassung:The paper making or paper finishing machine has at least one blowing chamber (19) to direct a hot gas at the web (3) and/or supporting belt (13). The gas is a combustion gas or is heated by a combustion gas. Exhaust from the blowing chamber (19) and/or fresh air is fed to the hot gas. The heater (17,17') burns oil or a combustion gas. One burner (17) is within a drying cylinder (7,9) and a heater (17') is opposite the cylinder (7,9) or deflection roller (11). Where the machine (1) is for paper making, the cylinders (7,9) and/or blowing chamber (19) are in the drying section (5) and/or press section and/or in the wet section of the paper making machine. The blowing chamber (19) has a number of zones across the direction (15) of web travel to cover the web width, preferably supplied separately with the hot gas. A control system sets the temp. and/or gas vol. at the blower zones. The cylinders (7,9) are heated to a temperature of 100-400 deg C and preferably 160-350 deg C. The hot gas has a temperature of 150-600 deg C and preferably 250-450 deg C.
