Zusammenfassung:	The worktable (3) has two vacuum ducting systems (4,5), which can be put under vacuum independently, each with outlet bores (7,8) spaced over the table and opening on to its surface. The surface forms a support for a group of support members (9), which have vacuum orifices on their undersides (13) corresponding to the outlet bores (7) of a first group and separated from outlet bores (8) of a second group by a seal (11). A second seal (12) on the underside surrounds the first seal, a suction zone being formed between the two seals, corresponding to the outlet bore of the second group. When the support members are moved in x or y direction on the worktable surface, correspondence of one of the outlet bores of the first group with the vacuum orifice (10) of the support member and one of the outlet bores of the second group and the suction zone of the support member, retains the support member.
