Zusammenfassung:	Height of a table top can be adjusted by means of a first connecting member (4) attached to the table top and a second connecting member (6) formed by the table frame (2), the two connecting members being displaceable wrt. each other. The members can be locked in position by a force or friction device. Pref. the connecting members are tubular, the frame members formed of hollow sections (12,13) in which the first member can slide. The locking arrangement is pref. formed by clamping cheeks (15,16) which are locked by an actuating member (20). The connecting members are pref. of metal, the clamping cheeks of plastics.
