Zusammenfassung:	The web coating applicator has a solid and elastic body (10) with a contact element (14) at its free end (21) to transmit the pressure (F) to the doctor (6). The doctor is pressed with a constant force against the counter roller (4) which supports the moving web. The pressure unit (8) has a right angled shape, in cross section. One leg (16) is parallel to the vertical line of the doctor or doctor holder. The second leg (18), at right angles to the first leg, is aligned towards the doctor with a symmetrical or asymmetrical tapering towards the doctor. The contact element is at the end of the second leg towards the doctor. The contact and pressure units can be in one piece or the contact element is separate and is fitted to the free end section (21) of the body (10). The contact element has a wear-resistant contact surface against the doctor. The contact element is a metal profile, across the web width. The pressure unit is divided into segments across the web width. The pressure system is positioned at the rear side of the pressure unit, away from the doctor. The pressure unit and the carrier beam (2) are of materials with generally similar coefficients of thermal expansion.
