Zusammenfassung:The method involves introducing and removing components into and from the operating computer system with at least one host processor (101) and a primary bus using a secondary bus (126) for the connection of components to be introduced and removed. The secondary bus has a controller (120) which is connected to the primary bus. The secondary controller receives a signal indicating the addition or removal of a component. A secondary bus clock is stopped in response to the reception of the signal to stop processing by components connected to the secondary bus. The components are added or removed and a second signal is received which confirms the addition or removal. The secondary bus clock is restarted in response to the second signal and the computer system is reconfigured for the secondary components connected to the secondary bus.
