Zusammenfassung:	The engine has an injection valve (4) positioned between two outlet valves (2) and the cylinder wall next to the outlet valves. There are three intake valves (1,1'1''), and the two outer valves feed fresh air into the cylinder independently of the central valve. A piston (5) with a combustion chamber recess (6) positioned opposite to the two outlet apertures operated by the outlet valves. The injection valve is angled relative to the axis of the cylinder through an angle of 30-75 deg . The valve injects fuel into a cylinder during the intake stroke at a crankshaft angle of approximately 360 - 300 deg , before the piston reaches the upper dead centre point.
