Zusammenfassung:	The paint is applied in powder form to the respective area of the bodywork and then hardened to form an adhesive coating. A chamber (2) with an opening contains one or more spray-heads (10), and these and the surface (4) to be painted are moved towards each other in the opening, so that painting takes place only over the designated area. The chamber and surface can be moved apart before the hardening operation, which can be carried out by infra-red irradiation. Any surplus powder in the chamber can be exhausted, while any adhering to the chamber is loosened by vibration after movement apart.
