The ceramic material bridges a weld joint between two metal components (3, 4) to be joined, with the carrier attached to these components. The carrier (7) with a thermally sprayed ceramic layer (6) forms a compound layer which is shaped according to the configuration of the welded joint and the form of the welded seam base.
