Switch for computer input device e.g. keyboard or mouse

The device has connectors for at least two input devices and for at least one computer. The device also has a bidirectional microcontroller (6) with a program memory (7). Digital bidirectional interfaces (11,12,13) are arranged between the microcontroller (6) and the connectors. At least each pair of interfaces are identical for connecting at least pair-wise identical input devices. The identical devices may be e.g. keyboards or may each be a mouse. A method for controlling communication between at least two input devices and at least one computer uses this device. The device is set in a state such that when connected the control demand is conveyed directly to at least one of the input devices.
