Zusammenfassung: | The top skin forms the floor of the storey above and the bottom one the ceiling of the one below. The top one rests on beams (3) absorbing the load, the space (7) between it and the bottom one accommodating services etc. The bottom skin is fixed to the beams and forms a stiffener giving sufficient strength to the room walls below. Both skins are sufficiently fireproof to give the complete ceiling the fire-resistance required by law. The bottom skin can be fixed directly to the beams, and typically has holding rails at the same intervals as the beams and in which fixing devices engage. Provision can be made (15-17) on the beams for the installation of sloping supply pipes (9,10). |
