A liquid mixing assembly holds a standing test tube (1) as it is spun by a motor (3, 4). The test tube stands on vertical- (2, 5) and between side-supports (7, 8). The novelty is that: (a) the side-supports (7, 8) have non-contact centralisation and stabilisation devices (9, 10) which operate within the space (S) between the test tube (1) and side-supports (7, 8); (b) the centralisation and stabilisation devices (9, 10) rest on supports (33, 34) in line with the base of the test tube (1); (c) the test tube (1) tip rests in a cup with a lower attached tube which rotates around a pivot (34), in turn attached to a base (13); (d) the non-contact supports consist of a ring of low-friction material with knife-blade inner circular edge, whose diameter is slightly larger than that of the test tube.
