Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	The engine management system monitors the rate of change of engine speed from cold starting and the time taken to reach a reference speed. The monitoring is performed over a set number of engine cycles and the results are compared with stored values to determine the type of fuel used e.g. light fuel or heavy fuel. Fuel identification is automatic and the result is used to adjust the ignition and the fuel injection etc. to obtain optimum engine settings to match the type of fuel. Three main parameters are monitored; the starting mode of the engine, the variation in engine speed and the gradient of engine speed with respect to time.
