Pharmaceutical compositions having ulcerinhibitory activity contain xanthene-9-carboxylic acid tropine ester methobromide and 1- benzyl-1-(3 - dimethylaminopropoxy)-cycloheptane or a physiologically compatible salt thereof and optionally 2-diethylamino-ethylbenzilate. Salts of the cycloheptane derivative may be formed with hydrochloric, hydrobromic, maleic, fumaric, sulphuric and ptoluenesulphonic acids. The compositions may be administered orally, parenterally or rectally in the form of tablets, pills, capsules, aqueous or oily solutions, emulsions, suspensions and suppositories.
