Zusammenfassung:	For service and diagnostics, machines are provided with sensors (208) to measure operating parameters, e.g. engine speed, oil pressure, water temperature etc. A data system compiles a set data for a fleet (202) of machines and also a set of reference data as a function of the fleet data. The data on individual machines is compared with the reference data and a deviation signal (212) is produced if a machine parameter exceeds a predetermined threshold value from the reference. The fleet manager (214) decides on an action based on the signal, the fault recorded and the service plan for the machine and instructs the garage (220) to carry out repairs. The system is used in the same way for fleets with two types of machine.
