Zusammenfassung:Production of optically active 1-phenyl-ethylamine compounds (A) of formula (I) comprises (a) reacting the racemic compound (B) of formula (I) in an alkanol of formula ROH (II) with optically active N-phenyl-carbamate lactate (C) of formula (III), optionally in (II), at 70-100 deg C, at mole ratio (B):(C) of 1:0.4-0.5; and (b) separating the resulting crystalline salt and treating it with aqueous alkali, optionally in the presence of an organic solvent which is sparingly soluble in water. X = halogen; n = 0-2; R = 1-5C alkyl.
