DNA encoding peptide(s) from papilloma virus major capsid protein

DNA (I) encodes a peptide (II) from a papilloma virus (PV) major capsid protein. (II) is any of 11 sequences reproduced (together with the DNA encoding them), or is derived from these sequences by alteration of \- 1 amino acid (aa). (I) is produced by: (i) isolating total DNA from a biopsy of an epi...

Zusammenfassung:DNA (I) encodes a peptide (II) from a papilloma virus (PV) major capsid protein. (II) is any of 11 sequences reproduced (together with the DNA encoding them), or is derived from these sequences by alteration of \- 1 amino acid (aa). (I) is produced by: (i) isolating total DNA from a biopsy of an epithelial neoplasm; (ii) hybridising this with DNA encoding a (II) to detect presence of a PV genome in the total DNA, and (iii) cloning the PV genome into a vector for sequencing. Also claimed are: (1) proteins (III) encoded by (I); (2) expression vectors containing DNA encoding (III); (3) transformants containing (2), and (4) antibodies (Ab) against (III).
