Zusammenfassung: | The piston (3) has a pivoting connecting rod (5) and a crown (7) separating (21) chambers. An inlet passage (12) delivers fresh gas into the inlet chamber, and an exhaust passage (11) discharges from the combustion chamber, both passages passing through the cylinder wall (20). Transfer passages in the cylinder wall connect the inlet and combustion chambers, their mouths (100,110) being opened and shut by the travelling piston skirt (61). The piston can be turned on its longitudinal axis (48), and its crown contains one or more recesses extending to its edge, so as to form areas at different levels, which work with the transfer- and exhaust port edges (101,111) as the piston is turned. Several transfer- and/or exhaust passages can be provided, while the crown contains alternate high- and low-level radial segments with control edges. |
