Zusammenfassung:	An airing and drying stand comprises an expanding frame with tilting arms (4) for accommodating a washing line, which is fastened on slides (7a,7b,7c). The slides can be shifted in the arms. A rubber band (8) is provided in each arm between the outermost slide (7a) and a point (17) in the inner arm section. The rubber band causes the washing line to be drawn into the arms when the expanding frame is closed.
